The MeisterR ZetaCRD for the Mazda MX5 are a versatile coilover suitable for both fast road and track day use. The ZetaCRD (MN04S) has softer springs than the other MeisterR kits and uses rubber bush top mounts at the front and rear. These kits feature MeisterR's unique Close Ratio Damping technology which enures both the compression and rebound damping are working together in harmony. This creates an optimised ride based on any damping settings you set on the adjustment dial .

This MN04S coilover kit is the mainstay coilover of choice for many MX5 owners and although it is primarily geared towards road use it will not disappoint on track. ZetaCRD coilovers have been engineered to reduce body roll, provide compliant handling, without sacrificing ride comfort. With this in mind the ZetaCRD kits come with replacement front and rear rubber bush top mounts included. This tightens up the suspension by getting rid of the tired / worn original mounts without adding the extra vibration caused by kits with solid mounts. Damping and ride height adjustable mean the ZetaCRD will provide full control over the vehicle suspension setting for the road or on the track.

The more track focused MeisterR ZetaCRD+ coilover kit (MN04R) has now been superseeded by the MeisterR ClubRace coilovers which feature digressive valving, harder spring rates and solid front top mounts.

CRD - Close Ratio Damping

What the CRD does is that it keep the compression and rebound ratio close to each other at the full stiff adjustments without going massively over critical rebound damping like you will find on many suspensions on the market. What this mean is you will have a comfortable ride on softer setting, but the stiffer damper setting will produce better grip as the increase in compression damping force will sharpen the steering response as well as force the tyre to generate more traction.

The rebound force are also kept in check to not go over critical so it will not "jack down" the car. When suspension is over critical damping, it create unpredictable handling characteristic because the suspension are not allowed to work through it natural frequency. The CRD keeps the rebound force in check to make sure both compression and rebound are working together to get the most out of the tyres on a specific application.
