These Winmax brake pads (WMP370-16 / WMP335-16) are suitable for fitment in the Renaultsport Megane Mk3 Models (RS-250, RS-265)

Winmax brake pads are available in several compounds. Compound choice depends upon application and driver preference. We recommend that both front and rear brake pads are changed to keep a consistent brake balance from the original setup. For rally cars where the rear brakes run cool, use a brake pad suited for lower temperatures such as the W3, W4 or W6.5.

Winmax are one of the largest performance brake manufacturers in Japan and can be compared in quality to Endless, with slightly different braking characteristics to European manufacturers. Although the Winmax brake pads may seem more expensive they use exotic blends of materials to achieve great performing brake pads that have low pad and disc wear. The Winmax pad range give improved modulation throughout the pedal stroke and will last two to three times longer than their rivals. Winmax make performance brake pads for Ralliart and TRD and are fast becoming a race winning brake pad in European the WRC, WEC, WTCC and many other motorsport events.

Winmax W1 Brake Pads

Winmax W1 road brake pads are made from a non-metallic compound designed for hard road driving. The W1 brake pads give a near standard braking feel, producing very little dust and noise. These brake pads are much more resilient to brake fade from multiple stops than the standard OEM pads. In addition the fade rate is much more consistent and predictable. These are similar to brake pads such as the Endless NS97, Project Mu NS and Ferodo DS-Performance.

The main characteristics of the Winmax W1 brake pad range are:

  • Road, Autocross use
  • Road style refinement - extremely low noise, dust
  • High pad life
  • Friction coefficient of 0.29 - 0.32 over a working temperature range of from cold up to 450ºC

Winmax W2 Brake Pads

The Winmax W2 is another non-metallic road pad compound but with a more sports driving focus. Like the Winmax W1, the Winmax W2 brake pads have no significant dust issue or noise levels. The Winmax W2 pad compound improves driver pedal feel with improved initial bite, high friction at low temperatures and improved performance at higher temperatures. As with the W1 pads , the Winmax W2 will give excellent brake pad and brake disc life compared to most brands. These brake pads give a similar performance to the Endless MX72 and Project Mu B Spec.

The main characteristics of the Winmax W2 brake pad range are:

  • Road, Autocross, Gymkhana use
  • Road style refinement - low noise, dust
  • Longer pad and disc life
  • Friction coefficient of 0.32 - 0.35 over a working temperature range of from cold up to 500ºC

Winmax W3 Brake Pads

The Winmax W3 is a versatile metallic brake pad compound and can be used on both road and track. This is a more track focused compound than the W1 and W2; giving more braking control and very different bite characteristics that are more intended for track conditions and race compound tires. The Winmax W3 provides a new level of control and bite, that extends consistently into very high temperature ranges. It gives an ideal balance for those that need a daily driven brake pad, and are not willing to forgo any performance, at the cost of a bit of noise, dust, and a marginally higher wear rate. The Winmax W3 brake pads are most similar in performance to the Ferodo DS2500, Endless MXRS/MX72, Project Mu HC+, PFC 97, Hawk HP+ and Pagid RS4-2

The main characteristics of the Winmax W3 brake pad range are:

  • Road / Track Combination, Autocross, Gymkhana use
  • Specifically targeted for braking control
  • Friction coefficient of 0.34 - 0.37 over a working temperature range of from cold up to 600ºC

Winmax W4 Brake Pads

Winmax W4 brake pads are similar to the W3, using low steel ingredients, but with an even more precise braking control and consistent bite. The Winmax W4 brake pad compound is suitable for longer circuit sessions where higher temperatures are found. Winmax W4 brake pads will lap consistently longer than W3 brake pads whilst retaining a similar feel. The Winmax W4 is the first of the range where caution is needed for daily drivers, as this compound needs a working temperature above 50ºC. Cold braking does feel slightly loose so need to be warmed up. It will wear both discs and pads at slightly higher rate vs the Winmax W3. These brake pads are similar in performance to the CL Brakes RC5+, Hawk BL, Cobalt XR5/CBR and Pagid RS14B.

The main characteristics of the Winmax W4 brake pad range are:

  • Track Day, Competition, Autocross, Gymkhana use
  • Good initial bite
  • Specifically targeted for braking control
  • Friction coefficient of 0.37 - 0.40 over a working temperature range of 50ºC to 650ºC

Winmax W5 Brake Pads

Made with high steel ingredients but perfectly balanced for large circuit racing, the Winmax W5 brake pads are suited to dedicated trackday cars plus circuit race and rally cars. The Winmax W5 compound gives a constant braking co-efficient across the temperature range giving excellent braking modulation. This allows the driver to make minor braking corrections without upsetting the cars balance. The Winmax W5 will also give low brake pad wear. This is a good upgrade for people using Endless CC38/ME22, Project Mu 777, Ferodo DS1.11, Cobalt XR3 / XR4 and Pagid RST3 / RS14.

The main characteristics of the Winmax W5 brake pad range are:

  • Competition, Road Racing, Rally use
  • Made for full race conditions where high heat tolerance and precise brake controls are necessary
  • Friction coefficient of 0.40 - 0.43 over a working temperature range of 100ºC to 750ºC

Winmax W6 Brake Pads

The Winmax W6 brake pad are made from another high steel compound. Winmax have optimised the W6 brake pads to work at the high temperature conditions found in Rallying where the front brakes will be worked hard at each corner and with little time to cool before the next braking zone. These are similar in performance to the Endless CC40/ME20, Ferodo DS3000, Project Mu Club Racer and Hawk DTC30 / DTC60 / DTC70.

The main characteristics of the Winmax W6 brake pad range are:

  • Competition, Road Racing, Rally use
  • Made for full race conditions where high heat tolerance and precise brake controls are necessary
  • Friction coefficient of 0.45 - 0.48 over a working temperature range of 200ºC to 800ºC

Winmax W6.5 Brake Pads

The Winmax W6.5 is similar to the W7 brake pad compound but is designed to work at lower temperatures with a higher initial bite than the W7. Winmax W6.5 brake pads give a similar braking co-efficient over all temperatures to the CL Brakes RC6 but with much improved pad wear. The Winmax W6.5 is based on the W7 compound but with better response and performance at low temperatures. The main characteristics of the Winmax W6.5 brake pad range are:

  • Competition, Road Racing, Rally use
  • Made for full race conditions where high heat tolerance and precise brake controls are necessary
  • Friction coefficient of 0.47 - 0.50 over a working temperature range of 50ºC to 800ºC

Winmax W7 Brake Pads

The Winmax W7 brake pads have the highest heat tolerance and effectiveness in the Winmax range with an average friction of μ0.5. This gives immense stopping power yet still with Winmax's trademark low brake pad wear vs its competitors. These brake pads are also designed to work with race vehicles using a pedal box with no vacuum assistance. The Winmax W7 is similar in performance to Endless CC60/N30C, Project Mu H16-03, Cobalt XR1 / XR2, Pagid RS29 and Ferodo DSUNO.

The main characteristics of the Winmax W7 brake pad range are:

  • Made for full race conditions where high heat tolerance and precise brake controls are necessary
  • Friction coefficient of 0.48 - 0.53 over a working temperature range of 100ºC to 850ºC

Winmax WE1 Brake Pads

The Winmax WE1 is an endurance pad designed to have very low wear rates, making it suitable for 3hr endurance races.. The main characteristics of the Winmax WE1 brake pad range are:

  • Endurance race use
  • Low wear rates
  • Friction coefficient of 0.38 - 0.42 over a working temperature range of 300 to 700°C

Winmax WE2 Brake Pads

The Winmax WE2 is an endurance pad with a slightly lower friction coefficient than the WE1. This gives even lower wear rates making it suitable for endurance races of over 6hrs.. The main characteristics of the Winmax WE2 brake pad range are:

  • Endurance race use
  • Extremely low wear rates
  • Recommend to be cold calliper.
  • Friction coefficient of 0.30 - 0.35 over a working temperature range of 300 to 700°C

Winmax WN1 Brake Pads

The main characteristics of the Winmax WN1 brake pad range are:

  • Competition, endurance race use
  • Better control and low wear of WN series
  • Friction coefficient of 0.38 - 0.43 over a working temperature range of 200 to 850°C

Winmax WN2 Brake Pads

The Winmax WN2 is based on WN1 brake pad compound, but designed to give better initial bite and improved braking performance. The main characteristics of the Winmax WN2 brake pad range are:

  • Competition use
  • Better initial response and performance.
  • Friction coefficient of 0.42 - 0.45 over a working temperature range of 200 to 850°C

Winmax WN3 Brake Pads

The Winmax WN3 is based on W7 brake pad compound, and is designed to give the ultimate in performance for high end motorsport teams who demand the maximum from the braking system. The main characteristics of the Winmax WN3 brake pad range are:

  • Top end motorsport use
  • Great perfomances whilst constantly running with high loads.
  • Friction coefficient of 0.50 - 0.55 over a working temperature range of 100 to 850°C
