Getting The Best Performance Out Of Your Peugeot 206

The Peugeot 206 GTI is gradually becoming more popular for fast road and trackday use having previously been overshadowed by the Peugeot 306 GTI-6. The Peugeot 206 GTi's 138bhp 2.0 engine has a lot of potential. The Cat Cams 4901613 fast road cam sees figures of 158bhp with a remap (gains of 23 bhp and 24 lb.ft). With throttlebodies 180-190bhp is attainable. The Peugeot 206 chassis is quite lively but coilovers are a popular upgrade. AP & Weitec both offer extremely good value non adjustable coilover kits for the car.

For racing we reccomend the AST Sportline I coilvers which have damping adjustment and a large oil capacity to cope with the higher temperatures from working the suspension harder on track. Uprated gear linkages will help eliminate the usual play found in the standard o/e items to give a vastly improved gear change.
