CL Brakes is the new name for Carbone Lorraine Sintered Metal Brake Pads. CL Brakes brake pads are made from sintered metal compounds giving superior braking quality in all areas including durability, power, feeling, and efficiency in wet weather.

The RC5+ compound is CL Brakes newest and most advanced brake pad material to date and leads the way in braking technology. CL Brakes RC5+ brake pads excel as a fast road and trackday car applications plus lightweight race cars.

The CL Brakes RC5+ brake pad compound is designed to give virtually no dust and is very quiet, eliminating brake squeal usually associated with race brake pads. This RC5+ brake pad material has a slightly higher friction co-efficient, but lower wear rate than the discontinued RC5 brake pad compound (μ=0.40).

The RC5+ brake compound is very effective from cold, giving excellent initial bite yet does not deteriorate with braking temperatures until over 1000 °C – well above the temperatures found under all race conditions.

NOTE: Carbone Lorraine pads are primarily for race applications. Therefore on certain vehicles anti rattle springs may be required when fitting for use as a fast road pad.

CL Brakes Sintered Metal Brake Pads offer the most consistent braking performance on the market today. The CL Brakes range does not contain any organic compounds. The pad material does not melt or compress when under pressure and when subjected to high temperatures. This gives a stiffer pedal and better brake modulation in all conditions allowing the driver to have confidence in the vehicles braking ability.

The unique CL Brakes compounds do not coat brake discs with pad material, allowing instant bedding in and increased disc life. The sintered metal brake pads work in all weather scenarios; breaking though the ice or the water film coat which covers the disc in freezing or wet conditions. This means only one choice of brake pad compound is ever needed.
