The TU5JP4 engine is now being used in many Citroen Saxos and other models. The Cat Cams 1322705 camshaft set is designed for this conversion and is similar in profile to the 1321708 Citroen Saxo VTS camshaft. The 1322705 cam lobes sit correctly above the TU5JP4 valves and is for fast road and track day use. These camshafts are a direct replacement for the standard Citroen C2 camshaft. This camshaft set is easy to fit using standard timing marks.

The 1322705 camshafts must be used with the Citroen Saxo VTS OE followers, retainers and valve springs as the Citroen C2 components are not able to cope with this high performance camshaft. The 1322705 Camshaft will work with the standard C2 VTS TU5JP4S, or TU5J4 inlet manifold, but requires an aftermarket ECU to ensure correct fueling & ignition timing as the standard C2 ECU and electronic throttle are unable to cope. Cars using these 1322705 camshafts regularly produce over 150bhp, with a good idle and emissions for MOT time. The Cat Cams 1322705 camshaft set is the limit in profile before additional head work is needed. Please also check piston clearance before running as engines with significantly skimmed heads may have clearance issues with the standard size headgasket. We recommend that once the 1322705 camshafts are fitted you rotate the inlet and exhaust camshaft to make sure the head casting does not foul the camshaft movement. Slight headwork (though this is very rare) may be needed to remove some metal from the head to accomodate this camshaft profile.
